By using TechBaro, you agree to these terms. TechBaro is a community-driven platform for IT freelancers to share market insights anonymously. We're built by freelancers, for freelancers.
💡 Core Principle: Be honest, don't spam, don't try to manipulate the data. We're all in this together.
Who Can Use TechBaro
TechBaro is designed for:
- IT Freelancers: Developers, engineers, product managers, designers, and other tech professionals working independently
- Independent Contractors: Anyone working on a project or contract basis in the technology sector
- Honest Contributors: People committed to providing accurate, truthful market data
You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Google or GitHub account to submit data.
Acceptable Use Policy
✅ What You CAN Do
- Submit your weekly market status honestly
- View aggregated market insights for free
- Share TechBaro with fellow freelancers
- Use the data to make informed business decisions
- Cite TechBaro data with attribution
❌ What You CANNOT Do
- Submit false or misleading data - Don't lie about your workload, demand, or outlook
- Create multiple accounts - One person = one account. No sock puppets.
- Attempt to manipulate the index - Coordinated campaigns to skew data will result in a ban
- Scrape or harvest data - No automated data collection or API abuse
- Reverse engineer or attack the service - Be cool, don't be a jerk
- Spam the submission system - One submission per week, per person
- Sell or commercialize TechBaro data - Data is for personal use and decision-making only
Your Submissions
When you submit data to TechBaro:
- You grant us a license to aggregate, analyze, and publish your anonymized data
- Your submission is final - Once submitted, you cannot edit or delete individual data points (they're immediately anonymized)
- You represent the data is accurate - Submitting false data violates these terms
- We may reject or exclude suspicious data - Our fraud detection may flag submissions that appear manipulated
Data Ownership & License
Your Individual Data: You own your submissions. However, by submitting, you grant TechBaro a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, aggregate, and publish your anonymized data.
Aggregated Insights: TechBaro owns the aggregated market insights, indexes, and derived analytics. You may cite or reference this data with attribution.
No Resale: You may not scrape, republish, or sell TechBaro data commercially without explicit written permission.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Submit fraudulent or manipulated data
- Attempt to abuse or attack the platform
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent limits
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Note that previously submitted anonymized data cannot be removed from historical aggregates.
